A Few Words from Our Teacher
I believe all children should be in an environment they can actively explore, an environment that is stimulating and promotes individual growth. Children learn best when experiencing the world directly, being active participants in their learning, and learning about what interests them most.
I believe that as a teacher, my role is to foster this growth and support the children. I will be successful by providing the children a well thought out, engaging, natural classroom environment. This environment will allow for learning through direct experiences, welcoming exploration, and engaging the children. Through careful observations of the children, I will implement a learning environment based on their interests. I will focus on the children’s needs and interests to enrich their learning and provide an opportunity for learning to occur naturally and with this, allow for learning to reach higher levels of comprehension.
I will engage children by introducing a variety of activities and resources that will be both stimulating and challenging to help the children connect their world to the world around them, thus developing a deeper understanding and sense of the world around them and to develop the whole child.
Overall, I think that children have a hunger for knowledge and understanding of their world. I will nourish this by providing a classroom community that is inviting and encourages active exploration. The children will learn through a variety of free choice activities and their learning will flourish.
